Description:
How has art education changed since the establishment of the first art academies centuries ago? Has it changed enough so that it follows current trends and prepares students for challenges of today's art industry, or is academic training out of touch with the art world? What new fields of instruction, courses or pedagogical approaches need to be integrated into existing academic programs? Ultimately, how important is formal art education for artists, designers and artisans-craftsmen, as well as other art and museum professionals?
