Qatar Natural History Group is conducting a talk on the 3 April at 7 pm, on the topic: Ode to Water: The Stepwells of India.
Through photographs taken by the speaker during travels in the Indian subcontinent, the talk will present typologies of water structures with steps designed to tap, contain, and replenish water in the medieval era, stepwells also served as public spaces to safely access water. The talk is based on an essay authored by the speaker, Sneha Parthasarathy, for the recently published book 'The Forgotten Stepwells of Telangana'.
