Ikebana is a disciplined art form from Japan, in which nature and humanity are brought together. It not only has the artistic appeal but it also has a deep philosophical meaning. Though ikebana is a creative expression, it has certain rules governing its form. One is the employment of minimalism. While western arrangements emphasize on using many flowers Ikebana uses very few. Sometimes an arrangement may have only one flower. The spiritual aspect of ikebana is considered very important to its practitioners. Silence is a must during practices of ikebana. These are just two of the many aspects related to Ikebana. The rest will be dealt in detail by Michie.
Everyone is welcome! RSVP and some tools for workshop are required.
