'Worldly Rosy' breast cancer awareness drive from October 15

Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) will launch an awareness campaign ‘Worldly Rosy’ on October 15 on Doha Corniche and continue throughout the month.

It is aimed at women of all age groups in Qatari society.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and a culture to adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent it and shed light on health-related services available in the country.

The initiative will also encourage early detection and includes competitions to promote the spirit of hope and optimism among various segments of society towards cancer and the ability to address it.

It also aims to activate the role of the community in providing necessary support for cancer patients financially and morally.

Mariam Hamad Al Nuaimi, Director-General, QCS, has invited all community members of all sects and groups to participate in the campaign, which aims to achieve the goal of encouraging early detection of cancer, which contributes to 95 percent to easy treatment.

Al Nuaimi said breast cancer awareness is important as the incidence of the disease is the highest among various cancer cases registered in Qatar.

Al Nuaimi said breast cancer is the fastest type of cancer prevalent among women, with the rise in its incidence linked to changes in lifestyles of women and early detection helps control it easily.
