The sixth biennial Hamad bin Khalifa Symposium on Islamic art, “By the Pen and What They Write: Writing in Islamic Art and Culture”, will open on Saturday, 7 November 2015 5:00p.m. in the Al Rayyan Theater, Souq Waqif in Doha, Qatar. The consecutive two days will be held at the Museum of Islamic Art. The Symposium, organised by Drs. Sheila Blair and Jonathan Bloom, is a leading international conference on Islamic art and culture, co-sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, VCUQatar and the Qatar Foundation. This year the symposium will celebrate its 10^th Anniversary.
