The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara announced the opening of registration for the pearl diving and fishing contests within the 8^th edition of Senyar Festival.

The registration begins February 3 until March 15 organised by the Katara Beach Management from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

The conditions for registration include having a wooden boat (traditional dhow) equipped with navigation systems and safety facilities with a valid license. Participating teams should be from 10 – 13 participants for the fishing and 8-12 for the pearl diving contest.

Participants must be Qatari nationals and only four participants per team can be of different nationalities.

The Senyar festival is organised by Katara and aims to revive the maritime cultural heritage of the ancestors in Qatar.
