Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will organise the first edition of Qatar Ice Hockey Championship at Villagio Playground.

Time: 4 p.m.
Venue: Villagio Playground

The event will kick off on the 22 of October 2010 with the participation of 4 teams which include Qatari, Canadian and English players.

Al Fadhala stressed that the championship will be the first step on the path to the selection of a new Qatari team to compete in the Asian Winter Games in Kazakhstan.

The games will feature the participation of the best GCC and Asian teams as Qatar will face the UAE in the first match during the event on the 28th of January 2011.

Al Fadhala added that the Qatari squad will include 20 players where Qatar will compete in the second group along with the UAE, Hong Kong and Mongolia.

The first group includes, Kazakhstan, Japan, China, and Thailand.
