Description
This panel addresses women’s experiences and their changing role in the art world and society. To what extent does one’s gender inform one’s art? Do artists feel the urgency to address topics primarily connected to women or have these topics become less relevant lately? Where does the social/political aspect of art production end, and the deeply personal begin? Are women artists being treated or observed differently from their male counterparts? Is there such a thing as a woman’s gaze and if so, how can it be described? This panel will explore these and other related questions focusing on the experience of female artists creating today.
