The National Day celebrations of this year to be different in nature, inspired by the Emir’s speeches and his call to the people of Qatar to show steadfastness and morals, and to focus on societal development and the nation in various fields. Therefore, the naming of the National Day celebration organized by Embrace Doha comes as “Labaih Ya Amir", which translates to “Roger that, Emir”. This participation comes in collaboration with Katara for the second year in a row, and seeks to provide an original cultural scene inspired from the past, combined with the economic stability of the near future.

The event will be held for eight consecutive days from 13th to 19th December 2017. Gates will be open to the public in the evening, from 4 pm to 10 pm. Labaih Ya Amir is to offer cultural booths that highlight Qatar’s history and culture; from traditional majlis, to Qatari hospitality, falconry and traditional handicrafts. Acaas Al Fareej (traditional photo booth), Arabic calligraphy, henna and traditional food will give the public an opportunity to interact and immerse into the culture. The stage will showcase the Ardah, military shows, traditional dances and poetry performed by local school students. The event will offer plentiful activities for kids, from stage activities, to arts and crafts at the Kids Club and ‘Express Your Love’, dedicated for kids to express their love to Qatar through colouring and handwritten messages.

In light of this year’s National Day to be different in nature, Labaih Ya Amir takes a stance in showing support for the country by dedicating a section entitled ‘Souq Al Fareej’ (translates to local market), which will host local startup businesses to bring recognition to their companies. Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC)’s booth will provide guidance and opportunity for guests with business ideas. Sponsors to Labaih Ya Amir, Qatar Cool and Health Assistance Medical Service, will also host booths to showcase their company. Labaih Ya Amir will bring an abundance of activities in celebrating the National Day to stand in solidarity with the country and provide an interactive cultural experience. It is a cultural celebration that is not one to miss.
